To stream media content like photos, music, and videos to your TV from your computer running Windows 7 system, you can set up Xbox 360 or other devices as the Media Center Extender by connecting it to your home network.
How to set up Xbox 360 as Windows Media Center extender?
Step 1. Turn on your computer and make sure it has been connected to your home network.
Step 2. Turn on the Extender device Xbox 360 and connect it to the same home network.
Step 3. Launch Windows Media Center by following “Start” > “All Programs” > “Windows Media Center.”
Step 4. On start screen of your Windows Media Center, click “Tasks” and “Add extender” and then click “Next.”
Step 5. On your Xbox 360, use your Xbox 360 controller to scroll to “My Xbox,” and then select “Windows Media Center.”
Step 6. Enter the 8-digit setup key and click “Next” to complete the setup.
Note: Video and audio files that come inconsistent with Windows Media Center and Xbox 360 in format cannot be streamed on your home network. Get a video converter first in case that format incompatibility gets in the way.
