ISO file streaming to Chromecast
Just got my Chromecast, I have a lot of ISO files stored on my desktop computer and some on external hard drive. Now I need an app to stream all my iso files. Already tried plex, but there is no support for ISO files. Any help?
Chromecast supported file formats
Although there are many different ways for you to stream local video to Chromecast via Videostream app, the Plex Media Server or the Chrome Browser Tab, however, the files that you plan to stream to Chromecast must be included in Chromecast supported file formats listed below:
Media Container formats: AAC, MP3, MP4, WAV, WebM
Video codecs:
. H.264 High Profile Level 4.1(the processor can decode up to 720/60 or 1080/30)
. VP8
Audio codecs
. HE-AAC
. LC-AAC
. MP3
. Vorbis
. WAV(LPCM)
To stream unsupported ISO files with Chromecast, you will need a third-party video conversion app such as Pavtube BDMagic for Windows (top Blu-ray Rippers Review)/Mac to transcode ISO files to Chromecast favorable file formats with compatible container, video codec and aduio codec listed above. Then you will have no problem to stream converted files to Chromecast with either Videostream app, Plex Media Server or the Chrome browser tab.
Besides ISO files, you can also use the program to convert other incompatible file formats such as Tivo recordings, MKV, VOB, FLV, AVI, WMV, etc to Chromecast streamble file formats.
How to Transcode and Stream ISO Files with Chromecast to TV?
Step 1: Load ISO files into the program.
Start the program on your computer, click "File" > "Load IFO/ISO" to load ISO files into the program.
Step 2: Output Chromecast supported video codec.
Click the "Format" bar, from its drop-down option, choose to output Chromecast best compatible video codec from "Common Video" > "H.264 High Profile Video(*.mp4)".
Step 3: Output TV preset profile formats.
If you wish to cast ISO from Chromecast to TV, you can directly output TV preset profile formats. The program supports to output Sony/Panasonic/Samsung/LG TV specially optimized file formats.
Step 4: Begin ISO to Chromecast supported formats conversion process.
After all the setting is completed, hit right-bottom "Convert" button to start the video conversion process.
When the conversion is completed, just feel free to stream converted files from Chromecast to TV.
