Using Kodi app on Android TV box to play Blu-ray/DVD movies
I purchase BR discs and also have a large collection DVD discs. I rip them all and store them on a network attached storage drive accessed through SMB from several Android TV boxes. I would like to watch these movies mainly using the Kodi app on various Android TV boxes. How can I make that realized?
With the Kodi app installed on Android TV, you can easily turn your "dumb" TV "smart" for watching Kodi stored rich media content onto the big screen TV. It is not difficult to add media files that are included in Kodi supported formats list to it, however, as for purchased Blu-ray & DVD disc, before loading them into Kodi app, you will first need to remove the copy & region protection equipped on the disc.
After searching on the internet for best Blu-ray Ripper reviews, you may find that Pavtube BDMagic for Windows/Mac (support Mac OS X El Capitan) does the job best for you, you can try the program fully with a waterstamp on the video to see whether it can do the work you want it do. The program is a combo function of both Blu-ray and DVD disc protection removal and format conversion, you can easily get Kodi supported formats from Blu-ray/DVD for watching on Android TV with ease.
Crop video or adjust output aspect ratio
If the output video does not fit with your Android TV display aspect ratio, you can adjust the output aspect ratio with our program's built-in aspect ratio settings function. If there are black edges around the video due to incompatible aspect ratio settings, you can remove the black bars with the program's "Crop" function.
